Chikumbutso Salima once again proved why he’s one of the most exciting young talents, putting on a sensational, match-winning display as FCB Nyasa Big Bullets cruised to a 3-0 victory over Chitipa United in the TNM Super League.
The lively midfielder provided two late assists for Babatunde Adepoju, both in the final moments, sealing a comfortable win for The People’s Team and collecting his third Player of the Match award this season.
With Bullets holding onto a narrow lead, Salima delivered when it mattered most. In the 86th minute, he produced a stunning chested pass to thread through Chitipa’s defense, setting up Babatunde to calmly double the advantage.
As the clock reached the 90th minute, Salima made his presence felt again, sending in a pinpoint cross from the right that struck the post before Babatunde finished off the rebound, capping the 3-0 win, securing all three points, and extending our unbeaten run to five league victories—keeping Bullets perched at the top with 15 points.
Salima’s back-to-back Player of the Match honors, following another remarkable performance against Premier Bet Dedza Dynamos last Wednesday, underscore his outstanding form at this crucial juncture of the campaign.
“I’m overjoyed, and this recognition motivates me to push even harder and keep performing for the team,” said the 23-year-old. “My mindset never changes—I always aim to give everything and contribute in every match. I also want to encourage our fans to continue coming out and supporting us; their energy means the world to us.”
Already boasting three individual awards this season, Salima is quickly establishing himself as a driving force in Bullets’ quest for an 18th league title, determined to reclaim the championship after narrowly missing out last year following five consecutive triumphs.
