Vote for your April Player of the Month

Lanjesi Nkhoma, Patrick Mwaungulu and Richard Chimbamba have been nominated for the Hubertus Clausius Player of the Month for April.

Nkhoma, who has been nominated for the award for the first time since its launch last season, was on target when we played out to a goalless draw away to Silver Strikers in our TNM Super League opener at Bingu National Stadium.

In that encounter, the gifted attacker kept the opposition defence at bay with his dribbling abilities and pace.

He almost scored the winning goal in the second half, but he was very unfortunate as he was denied by the post.

The list sees Mwaungulu, who won the award in June last season, nominated for the third time since Bullets came into partnership with Hubertus Clausius to introduce the monthly award.

He was at his level best when Bullets tormented Extreme FC in the third week of the top-flight league. He was deployed in his preferred position, the right wing, before being switched to an attacking midfielder in the second half.

Mwaungulu was just too difficult to handle as he led the attack for Bullets, and it wasn’t a surprise to break the deadlock following a goalless first half. The goal, which was scored by Hassan Kajoke, came through his well-taken freekick. Even though he missed out on the Man of the Match award, he contributed a lot to earn that victory over a very resilient Extreme FC.

But we also have a new entry in the name of Chimbamba. He becomes the first goalkeeper to be nominated for the Hubertus Clausius POM award.

Chimbamba kept two clean sheets in three matches played in April. His flexibility between the two sticks has seen him producing 10 crucial saves in three matches to help Maule collect seven out of the possible nine points.

How to vote

For any of the three players to claim the accolade, supporters are asked to send the name of their favourite nominee preceded by the keyword POM to 441 via TNM And Airtel at a cost of K50 each SMS. Voting closes on Wednesday 18 May 2023.
