Nickson Nyasulu, Patrick Mwaungulu and Lloyd Aaron have been nominated for the June Hubertus Clausius Player of the Month award.
During the month, the defending champions managed only two points from three TNM Super League matches, finishing fifth in the standings, 13 points behind leaders Silver Strikers.
Despite the team’s challenges, several standout performances caught attention, leading to the nomination of the trio for this prestigious monthly award.
Here’s a recap of how the nominees performed in June.
NICKSON NYASULU
After a season mostly on the bench, Nyasulu is now a regular contributor in this campaign, showcasing strong performances when called upon. His confident displays have earned him recognition, including a Player of the Match award in May’s closing match against Moyale Barracks, highlighting the defender’s growing importance to Kalisto Pasuwa’s team.
PATRICK MWAUNGULU
The midfielder featured in all matches played by the reigning champions in June, displaying his skills and creating chances despite a 1-0 defeat to Silver Strikers.
Mwaungulu scored a stunning volley in the subsequent match against Creck Sporting Club and continued to impress against Kamuzu Barracks, contributing significantly throughout. This is his third consecutive nomination this season.
LLOYD AARON
He did not miss a match for The People’s Team in June, continuing his consistent performances from May. Despite challenges in converting chances, Aaron played a pivotal role in midfield against Silver Strikers, Creck and KB, demonstrating reliability and leadership.
In his first season at Bullets, the midfielder gets his second nomination this campaign after winning his first Hubertus Clausius POTM award last month.
