FCB Nyasa Big Bullets is delighted to confirm that Peter Mponda has signed a three-year contract to become the new head coach.
A former Bullets captain, he returns to take his new role at the club where he also served as assistant coach under former head coach Kalisto Pasuwa from 2019 to 2023.
As Pasuwa’s deputy, he won three league titles, one FDH Bank Cup and one Airtel Top8 Cup, before he left to get a coaching role at South African side Black Leopards.
Mponda is one of the most exciting and highly rated Malawian young coaches. He joins The People’s Team after guiding Silver Strikers to their first Super League title after eleven years.
During his playing career, he operated primarily as a central defender in which he led Malawi as the captain in the 2010 Africa Cup of Nations.
Mponda also played for Zimbabwe’s Monomotapa, South Africa’s Santos and Black Leopards as well as Canadian Ottawa Wizards.
The club will announce Mponda’s coaching team as soon as possible.
