Inside Bullets: What’s In Store This Week

As Malawi wrap up their international commitments on Tuesday with the second friendly against Lesotho, attention now shifts back to domestic football — and it’s another busy week ahead across the Bullets family.

First Team: Focus Shifts to Civil After International Break

The First Team will return straight from the international break into a crucial TNM Super League assignment as we host Civil Service United at Kamuzu Stadium on Sunday.

Bullets currently sit second in the standings with 50 points, just one behind rivals Mighty Wanderers, who also have a game in hand. The Nomads face defending champions Silver Strikers on Saturday, 24 hours before our clash against Civil — a result that could have a major bearing on the title race.

Babatunde Adepoju, Yankho Singo, Blessings Mpokera and Chikumbutso Salima have all been away with the Flames, with Salima featuring off the bench and Singo and Babatunde starting Saturday’s 0-0 draw. Their return, after this afternoon’s second match at the Toyota Stadium in Bloemfontein, adds sharpness and experience as the team pushes to keep pressure at the top.

Maule will be looking to capitalise on home ground advantage and strengthen their title charge.

Women Set for Long Trip North to Face MK Academy

Fresh from a hard-fought goalless Blantyre derby against Kukoma Ntopwa Women, the Women’s Team hit the road this week as they travel to Mzuzu Stadium for a Friday showdown with MK Academy.

The side remain fifth in the NBM Women’s Premiership with 15 points from 10 matches, and the trip North presents a chance to close the gap on the top four. After back-to-back draws, the team will be pushing to turn solid performances into three points as the league moves into a decisive stage.

Reserves Await Next SRFL Fixture

The Reserves await confirmation of their next assignment from the Southern Region Football Association.

They remain fourth in the ThumbsUp Southern Region Football League with 41 points from 23 games, firmly in the cluster chasing top-three positions. With the top four tightly packed, every upcoming fixture carries weight in the title push.

Once the SRFA releases the next round of fixtures, the young Maule will resume their charge.

U19 Continue Second-Round Momentum While Awaiting Fixtures

The U19s also await their next fixture announcement from the Blantyre District Youth Football Association.

They remain in excellent form, sitting second in the Blantyre District Under-19 League with 37 points from 18 matches, and are unbeaten in the second round, winning all three matches so far — including last week’s 2-0 victory over CC Stars.

With confidence high and momentum strong, the U19s stand firmly in the title conversation as the second round unfolds.

With all four teams well-positioned in their respective competitions, it’s shaping up to be another exciting week across The People’s Team as we return from the international break.
