Babatunde Adepoju has paid tribute to his FCB Nyasa Big Bullets teammates, coaches, and fans after being named TNM Super League Golden Boot winner at the awards ceremony held in Blantyre on Thursday night.
The honour capped a remarkable league campaign in Bullets colours. He scored 15 league goals and earned his first national team call-up after being granted Malawian citizenship, reflecting the supportive environment that helped him thrive.
After finishing his two-year loan with The People’s Team in December, Baba returned to his parent club Venda Football Club in South Africa, yet his tribute highlighted just how pivotal Bullets were in his Golden Boot-winning season.
Across 28 league appearances, the Nigerian-born forward also provided seven assists, cementing his influence and consistency throughout the season.

A key factor in his success was his partnership with another Golden Boot winner at Bullets, Chikumbutso Salima, who completed a move to Sudanese side Al-Merrikh SC last month.
The duo finished the season as joint top scorers and combined for 18 assists, contributing directly to 48 of Bullets’ 60 league goals and highlighting their on-field understanding and attacking dominance.
Reacting to the accolade, Adepoju was quick to shift the spotlight away from individual recognition, insisting the achievement was built on collective effort and belief within the squad.
“I couldn’t have done it without the grind and the squad behind me,” Baba shared on his social platforms, thanking his teammates for their support throughout the campaign.
“Huge thanks to my teammates — your teamwork made this happen. This award is as much yours as it is mine.”
He also acknowledged the role played by the Bullets technical panel and management, crediting them for their guidance and trust throughout the campaign.
“Big shoutout to the technical panel and management for the guidance and trust. Thank you for believing in me and pushing me to be my best.”
The striker reserved special praise for the Bullets faithful, highlighting their unwavering support as a driving force behind his performances.
“Lastly, to the fan base — your chants made this possible. You pushed us every matchday.”
Adepoju’s Golden Boot success adds another highlight to Bullets’ 2025 league campaign and brings his time at the club to a fitting close, defined by goals, commitment, and gratitude for the collective spirit that shaped his journey.
