The FCB Nyasa Big Bullets quartet of Blessings Mpokera, Yankho Singo, Chikumbutso Salima and Babatunde Adepoju were back in national colours on Monday as they began training with the Malawi National Team ahead of their upcoming international friendlies against Lesotho.
The four Maule stars were part of the squad that reported for camp at Mpira Village in Chiwembe, where Kalisto Pasuwa’s side kicked off preparations for the two fixtures scheduled for 15 and 18 November 2025 at Toyota Stadium in Bloemfontein, South Africa.
The opening session involved both locally and foreign-based players, with only former Bullets forwards Gabadinho Mhango and Lanjesi Nkhoma yet to join the group.
With all four players in fine form for The People’s Team this season, the camp offers another opportunity to build on their momentum and earn valuable international minutes during the November FIFA window.
Babatunde Adepoju, who made his Malawi debut during last month’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against São Tomé and PrÃncipe, will be looking to continue his integration into the national setup.
Yankho Singo also featured prominently during the previous international window, impressing in midfield with his tactical maturity and distribution.
Chikumbutso Salima returns to Flames camp after recovering from an injury that ruled him out of the last qualifiers, while Blessings Mpokera has been recalled to the squad following a string of commanding performances in defence for Bullets this campaign.
His last national team involvement came in May, when he was part of the Hollywoodbets COSAFA Cup squad.
The Lesotho friendlies will provide valuable match fitness and tactical assessments as Pasuwa’s men continue preparations for the upcoming AFCON qualifiers and regional tournaments next year.
Malawi missed out on qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup Finals, finishing fifth in Group H, and will now turn focus to rebuilding momentum ahead of the continental campaign.
