Four FCB Nyasa Big Bullets players have been named in the Malawi national team’s 23-man provisional squad for the upcoming Four Nations tournament in Botswana later this month.
Flames head coach Kalisto Pasuwa has included defender Blessings Mpokera, midfielders Yankho Singo and Chawanangwa Gumbo, as well as striker Ephraim Kondowe in the locally based contingent preparing for the competition.
Kondowe’s inclusion marks a return to the national team for the Bullets striker after missing recent Flames assignments under Pasuwa.
The forward earned his first senior call-up in March 2024 for a Four Nations tournament featuring hosts Malawi, Kenya, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
His most recent call-up came in September 2025 when he was included in the 26-man squad for the World Cup qualifiers, where Malawi defeated Namibia 2-1 on September 5 before drawing 2-2 with Liberia three days later.
Singo has established himself as a regular in the national team under Pasuwa, earning 14 caps since making his Malawi debut in November 2024 in an AFCON qualifier against Burundi.
Gumbo also returns to the national team setup after last earning a call-up in February 2025 for the African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifiers against Comoros, which marked his first Flames selection since 2022. He later represented Malawi at the COSAFA Cup in June 2025, featuring in matches against Lesotho and Namibia.
Mpokera retains his place in the squad after impressing during the November 2025 international friendlies against Lesotho, where Malawi played out a 0-0 draw before securing a 1-0 victory over the Likuena.
The Four Nations tournament will run from March 23 to March 31 in Botswana, where Malawi will face Zambia, hosts Botswana and Zimbabwe.
The provisional squad, made up of locally based players, is scheduled to report for camp on Friday, March 6, 2026, at Mpira Stadium in Blantyre.
