Nyasa Big Bullets Reserves will face Phalombe Open Space in the inaugural Powertex Tayale Top Eight Bonanza.

The draw for the bonanza, to be financed by Powertex Limited, was conducted at Mpira Village in Chiwembe on Wednesday by the Premier Division soccer running body, Southern Region Football Association (SRFA).

Bullets Reserves return to action in almost a year after the Premier Division league was suspended due to Covid-19 pandemic in 2020.

The Bonanza is being sponsored to the tune of MK5 million, with the winner getting MK1 million.

Runners up in the competition will receive MK650,000 whilst the third-placed team will walk away with MK350,000 and the fourth-placed getting MK200,000.

Each participating team will also be given MK25,000, whilst the losing quarter-finalist teams will be compensated with MK50,000.

Both the top goal scorer and player of the tournament will be rewarded with MK50,000.

If the junior team proceeds to the quarterfinals, they will play the winner between Mulanje Mission and Sable Farming FC.

The games will be played at nine selected venues as one way of adhering to the Covid-19 measures which, as per new government rules, will only allow a public gathering of 250 people.

The venues in mention are Kamuzu Stadium, Balaka Stadium, Mangochi Stadium, Mulanje Stadium, Neno, BAT Stadium, Chilomoni Stadium and Blantyre Sports Club.

The competition will start a week after kicking off the new SRFA league season.
