George Chaomba joins FCB Nyasa Big Bullets on a two-year contract ahead of the 2026:27 season

Bullets sign forward George Chaomba on two-year deal

FCB Nyasa Big Bullets have strengthened their attacking options with the signing of forward George Chaomba on a two-year contract ahead of the 2026/27 season.

The 25-year-old joins The People’s Team as a free agent after leaving Creck Sporting Club following the expiry of his contract with the Lilongwe-based side.

Chaomba began his top-flight career with Mighty Tigers in 2022, where he finished as the club’s top scorer in his first season before securing a move to Silver Strikers in 2023.

He later joined Creck Sporting Club, where he continued his development and emerged as a key attacking player. During the 2024 campaign, Chaomba finished as the league’s second top scorer with 12 goals and eight assists, highlighting his impact in the final third.

Last season, he scored eight goals in all competitions for Creck Sporting Club, including one against Bullets in a 2-0 victory in Mchinji — Creck Sporting Club’s first-ever win over The People’s Team.

Speaking to Bullets Media after completing his move to Blantyre, Chaomba said joining Malawi’s most successful club represents an important step in his career.

“It feels good to be here. It’s every player’s dream in Malawi to play for Bullets.

“Moving from Creck to Bullets shows that my career is progressing. Joining a club of this size means a lot to me.”

The forward also reflected on the journey that has led him to The People’s Team.

“Starting at Mighty Tigers, I finished as the club’s top scorer in my first season before moving to Silver Strikers and later Creck Sporting Club. In 2024, I finished as the league’s second top scorer with 12 goals and eight assists behind Isaac Kaliati.

“It hasn’t been an easy journey. When I moved to Creck, I told myself I had to work hard to prove that I could deliver.”

Chaomba revealed that he attracted interest from several clubs before ultimately deciding to join Bullets.

“The first team that approached me was Mighty Wanderers and I thought I would go there.

“But then I received a call from Bullets CEO, Albert Chigoga, telling me the club wanted me. Silver Strikers also contacted me asking me to return while Creck wanted me to extend my contract.

“After discussing everything with my manager, we decided to focus on the future and that’s when I chose Bullets because that’s where I wanted to go.”

The attacker believes joining The People’s Team presents a major opportunity in his career.

“Bullets is a big club with a strong vision and huge support. There is no other team you can compare with Bullets in Malawi, so I felt it was the right decision for my career.”

Chaomba is confident he can contribute positively to the club’s attacking options.

“I’m confident that I’ve come here with my scoring boots. If I was able to score where I’m coming from, I believe I can also deliver here at Bullets.

“The club already has very good attackers like Maxwell Phodo, Hassan Kajoke and Ephraim Kondowe. I’m here to complement them and help strengthen the attack.”

The versatile forward added that he is comfortable playing in several attacking roles.

“I can play as a number seven or number eleven, but my preferred position is number ten.”

Looking ahead to the new season, Chaomba is determined to help the People’s Team compete for silverware.

“My target is to contribute to the success of the team and help the club win trophies. I also want to score more goals this season.

“Like many players, I also dream of playing abroad one day, and I believe performing well at Bullets can help me achieve that.”

Chaomba also had a message for the Bullets supporters as he begins a new chapter in his career.

“To the fans, I ask them to welcome me as one of their own. With their support, we will work hard to give them the results they want.”

The forward also paid tribute to Creck Sporting Club for their role in his development.

“I would like to thank Creck Sporting Club for being part of my journey, especially the club patron Clifford Kawinga, whom I still call my father.

“I also thank the team manager and the club chairperson Muhammad Seleman for being part of my journey.”

Bullets continue to strengthen their squad during the current transfer window as preparations intensify for the 2026/27 campaign.
