Bullets vs Karonga United venue changed

The Super League of Malawi has confirmed a change of venue for FCB Nyasa Big Bullets’ upcoming TNM Super League fixture against Karonga United, with the match now scheduled to be played at Karonga Stadium instead of Chitipa Stadium.

Initially, the hosts had planned to stage Saturday’s match in Chitipa, but on Thursday, Sulom announced that the fixture would instead be played at Karonga Stadium, without providing reasons. The date and kick-off time remain unchanged, with the match set for this Saturday at 14:30.

The change comes at a critical phase of the campaign, with Bullets and rivals Mighty Wanderers currently tied on 56 points after 25 matches. The second-placed Mighty Wanderers were handed their first defeat of the campaign, going down 2-1 to 15th-placed Mzuzu City Hammers on Wednesday.

The People’s Team remain top of the standings on goal difference, underscoring the importance of every fixture as the title race tightens.

As 17-time champions of Malawi, Bullets understand the level of focus required in these defining moments. Karonga Stadium has traditionally been a demanding venue for visiting sides, and Saturday’s encounter is expected to provide another firm test of character, with Karonga United known for their strong home performances.

Peter Mponda’s men head north aiming to bounce back from last weekend’s defeat to Creck Sporting Club while keeping momentum in the championship chase.

After Saturday’s assignment, The People’s Team will proceed to Mzuzu for another important Northern Region fixture against Moyale Barracks next Wednesday.

The club will continue to provide updates across all official platforms as preparations for the trip progress.
