FCB Nyasa Big Bullets Women will be represented by three players at national level after Asimenye Mwanyongo, Effa Msukwa and Vanessa Issa were named in the Malawi Under-20 provisional squad for the first phase of preparations ahead of the 12th African Union Sports Council (AUSC) Region 5 Youth Tournament, set for July 2026 in Mozambique.
The selections follow the trio’s strong performances in the NBM Women’s Premiership, where they have played key roles in Bullets Women’s campaign this season.
The Under-20 squad entered camp on 21 December at the Malawi University of Science and Technology (MUST) in Thyolo and will remain in training until 3 January 2026. The camp provides an early opportunity for players to stake their claim as the technical panel begins assembling a competitive squad for the regional tournament.
Anchoring the defence, Effa Msukwa has delivered consistent performances marked by discipline, awareness, and leadership. Her ability to build from the back and remain composed under pressure has been crucial for Bullets Women.
Operating in midfield, Asimenye Mwanyongo has brought balance and energy, linking defence and attack with intelligence and purpose. Her work rate and game management have seen her emerge as one of the side’s most reliable performers this season.
Up front, Vanessa Issa has led the Bullets Women attack with authority. The team’s leading scorer in the league, Issa has combined sharp finishing with intelligent movement, making her one of the standout forwards in the competition.
As preparations continue in Thyolo, the Bullets Women trio will be aiming to make a strong impression and secure places in the final squad as Malawi looks ahead to the Region 5 Youth Tournament in Mozambique.
