Bullets Women’s clash with Topik postponed

FCB Nyasa Big Bullets Women were set for a return to Kamuzu Stadium this Saturday, but their NBM Women’s Premiership clash against Topik Academy has been postponed by the Football Association of Malawi (FAM).

Maggie Chombo’s side were aiming to bounce back from last Sunday’s 3-1 defeat away to Ascent Academy in Lilongwe. But the team will now have to wait for their next opportunity to add to their points tally.

The fixture had been scheduled for 11:00am, forming part of a special Kamuzu Stadium triple-header for the Maule family.

Fans were set to enjoy a full day of Bullets football, with the Under-19s opening the action against Airspot United in the Blantyre District Youth Football League at 09:30, before the First Team’s TNM Super League showdown with Dedza Dynamos at 14:30.

In a statement, FAM confirmed the suspension of all its organised competitions and matches between 12–18 September 2025 due to preparations for the Malawi Tripartite General Elections scheduled for 16 September.

The decision affects the entire Week 6 program of the National Bank Women’s Premiership.

MDF Lioness were due to host Moyale Sisters on Friday at Champion Stadium. Civil Service Women were set to meet Mighty Wanderers Queens at Civil Stadium on Saturday morning, while Sunday’s double-header had lined up Kukoma Ntopwa Women against Silver Strikers Ladies at Mpira Stadium and MK Academy against Ascent Academy in Mzuzu.

The postponement means the Maule Ladies must put their comeback plans on hold. But the squad remains focused on regrouping during the enforced break and pushing for a top-four place once action resumes after the elections.
