FCB Nyasa Big Bullets and Goshen Dedza Dynamos are set for a historic showdown in the Castel Challenge Cup final, marking the first-ever meeting between the two sides in a cup final.
The match will now be played on 21 February 2026 at Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe, following impressive semifinal victories that set up this highly anticipated clash.
Gilbert Chirwa’s men booked their place in the final with a 2–0 win over Mzuzu City Hammers at Kamuzu Stadium on Sunday, thanks to Wongani Lungu’s brace. Dedza Dynamos reached the final after beating Blue Eagles, setting the stage for this historic encounter.
The People’s Team will be traveling to the capital aiming for a second piece of silverware this campaign, having lifted the Airtel Top 8 in July. Bullets narrowly missed out on the other two major trophies this season, finishing as FDH Bank Cup semifinalists and TNM Super League runners-up to rivals Mighty Wanderers.
This match will also mark the end of the 2025 football calendar, which began in March last year.
For Maule, this will be the 10th cup final appearance across all competitions in the last five seasons. The club has lifted seven trophies from nine finals contested, further cementing its dominance in Malawian football.
In the Castel Challenge Cup, Bullets will be making their second final appearance. The club previously lifted the trophy in its inaugural year, 2023, beating Silver Strikers on penalties during a historic quadruple-winning season.
The People’s Team also reached the 2024 semifinal, losing to Mzuzu City Hammers on penalties. Mzuzu had been runners-up in the 2024 final, losing to Mighty Wanderers, but this season they got their revenge by eliminating the Nomads in the quarterfinals.
With their eyes set on another trophy, Bullets now aim to add the Castel Challenge Cup to a season already full of high-stakes battles and memorable victories.
