The 2025 FDH Bank Cup semifinal between FCB Nyasa Big Bullets and Mighty Wanderers will be played at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre on Saturday, 1 November 2025, the Football Association of Malawi has confirmed.
It will be the first semifinal or final in a national knockout competition to be staged in Blantyre in several years, with recent high-stakes encounters between the two sides all taking place in the Capital City.
The confirmation follows both sides’ weekend victories — Bullets edging Kamuzu Barracks 2-1 at Kamuzu Stadium on Saturday, while Wanderers triumphed 3-2 on post-match penalties against Creck Sporting Club in Mchinji on Sunday.
The announcement sets the stage for a blockbuster week of football, as the two archrivals will first clash in the TNM Super League on Sunday, 26 October, before renewing their rivalry six days later in the FDH Bank Cup semifinal at the same venue.
The People’s Team are eyeing to reclaim the FDH Bank Cup and win it for a record third time, having lifted the trophy in 2022 and 2023 before Blue Eagles claimed it last season.
The semifinal promises another fiery chapter in Malawi’s biggest football rivalry, with a place in the FDH Bank Cup final at stake and both teams fighting for silverware across two competitions in one week.
In the other semifinal, Civil Service United will face Silver Strikers in the Lilongwe Derby at Bingu National Stadium in the Capital City on Sunday, 2 November 2025.
This year’s FDH Bank Cup final will be played on 9 November at the Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe.
