Bullets set for friendly clash against Changalume Barracks

FCB Nyasa Big Bullets will face off against Eastern Region Football League outfit Changalume Barracks in a friendly clash on Saturday at Balaka Stadium.

Following a convincing 3-0 win over another lower-tier team, Mchinji Villa FC, in last Sunday’s friendly, Bullets are heading to Balaka to keep the squad sharp and maintain match fitness during the ongoing break.

With seven squad members called up to the national team, Peter Mponda’s men have been exempted from domestic competitions. Malawi is participating in the TotalEnergies CAF African Nations Championship (CHAN) 2024 qualifiers.

After securing a 1-0 win over Bafana Bafana in the first leg of the final qualifying round in Lilongwe last Saturday, the Flames and are set to travel to South Africa for the return fixture on Sunday, May 11.

Currently leading the TNM Super League and securing a spot in the Airtel Top 8 semifinals, Bullets are set to return to official action next week. Maule will face Chitipa United in a league clash at Kamuzu Stadium next Wednesday.

The People’s Team last faced Changalume in the Castel Challenge Cup Round of 16, when we secured a commanding 5-0 victory over the Zomba side at Mpira Stadium in November.
