Gift Chicco will take charge as the centre referee for this Saturday’s TNM Super League showdown between FCB Nyasa Big Bullets and Kamuzu Barracks at Kamuzu Stadium.
With 12 years of experience officiating at the highest level, Chicco has been a familiar presence in Bullets’ matches since his promotion to the top division in 2013.
Over the past four seasons, the Mangochi-based referee has overseen close to 20 games involving Bullets, including marquee matchups like the Blantyre derby and the 2023 Castel Challenge Cup final against Silver Strikers.
Last season, Chicco was the man in the middle for four Bullets fixtures: the goalless league draw with Mighty Tigers, the 2-0 victory over Bangwe All Stars, the narrow 1-0 home loss to Silver Strikers, and the emphatic 5-0 triumph against Changalume Barracks in the Castel Challenge Cup round of 32.
This campaign, as The People’s Team have already played five league matches, Chicco previously officiated our 4-1 win over Creck Sporting Club and is set to oversee his second Bullets fixture of the 2025 season this weekend.
Assisting Chicco on the lines will be Blantyre-based officials Sibusiso Sibande and Fanuel Mailosi, both of whom have served as assistant referees for several Bullets matches in the past.
Rounding out the officiating team, Dan Dauya will serve as Fourth Official, with Paul Mhango appointed as Match Assessor.
