Bullets U19 head coach Yamikani Fodya on the touchline against Young Stars

Fodya reacts to Bullets’ 1-0 win on Sunday

FCB Nyasa Big Bullets Under-19 coach Yamikani Fodya shared his thoughts after his boys edged Young Stars 1-0 at Mpira Stadium on Sunday.

The former Bullets defender highlighted that key tactical adjustments at halftime were crucial in securing the win and keeping his side in contention in the Blantyre District Youth Football League.

The victory moves Bullets U19 to 46 points, five behind Mighty Wanderers Youth, who defeated Extending Hope 2-1 at Kamuzu Stadium.

“It was a tough game against Young Stars, who are a very strong side,” Fodya explained. “In the first half, we weren’t clinical enough in the final third. After giving the team instructions at halftime and making some key changes, we created a clear chance and took it, securing the win.”

The winning goal came from Hassan Madula, who finished a well-executed free-kick move to beat an off-side trap.

Fodya emphasized the importance of reading the game and making timely substitutions to shift the dynamics in Bullets’ favor.

“These boys are still learning the tactical side of the game, and we will continue developing them as they progress to higher levels,” he added.

“This victory will boost their confidence and motivate them to work even harder in the upcoming games. Now, we return to training to prepare for our match against Extending Hope next weekend.”
