Chawanagwa Gumbo’s cracking strike against Lipulumundu FC in the Castel Challenge Cup has been voted the Precious Medical International Goal of the Month for November.
In the round of 64, the midfielder sealed our victory late in the second half after Thomson Magombo had opened the scoring against the stubborn lower division side from Mangochi in the 66th minute.
Upon receiving the ball from the overlapping Eric Kaonga right outside the penalty arc, the former Ekwendeni Hammers captain took a sure close control before firing a rocket that hit the inside of the upright before reverberating into the other side of the net.
Gumbo’s strike got more votes from the fans than the other nominated efforts by Patrick Mwaungulu, Hassan Kajoke, Lanjesi Nkhoma and Ephraim Kondowe.
Congrats Gumbo, keep that art in the New Year 2024 and beyond!
