After a high-energy weekend across all competitions, The People’s Team head into another packed week of fixtures — with three sides in action while the Women’s Team pause for the November FIFA Women’s International Break.
First Team: Focus Turns to Kamuzu Barracks After Civil Thriller
Bullets sit top of the TNM Super League table with 53 points, one ahead of rivals Mighty Wanderers, who face Mighty Tigers this afternoon at Kamuzu Stadium.
Fresh from Sunday’s dramatic 4-3 comeback win over Civil Service United, Maule now travel to the Central Region for another crucial assignment against Kamuzu Barracks at Civo Stadium on Thursday afternoon.
After the midweek trip to Kamuzu Barracks, the First Team will remain in the Central Region and hit the road to Mchinji for a league meeting with Creck Sporting Club on Sunday. With back-to-back away fixtures in the space of four days, the squad will be aiming to maximise points and maintain pressure at the top of the TNM Super League table.
With momentum firmly on our side and the title race tightening, this week presents two vital opportunities to stay ahead in the standings.
Ntopwa Up Next as Reserves Return to Action
Also on Thursday, the Bullets Reserves return to action following their frustrating 1-1 draw away to league leaders Chilobwe United on Saturday — a match in which the team conceded a late equaliser from the spot deep into added time after a heavily disputed penalty decision.
Heston Munthali’s charges will now look to reset and push for maximum points when they face Ntopwa Reserves away at Kamuzu Stadium, as they continue to fight for position within the top four of the ThumbsUp Southern Region Football League.
After Ntopwa, our Reserves will then travel to Mpira Stadium where they will take on Zingwangwa United in what promises to be another cracker against the twelfth-placed side, who will be coming from a 2-all draw in Chiwembe against Chilomoni FC.
U19s Look to Extend Winning Streak to Five
Following the midweek fixtures, attention turns to the weekend as the Under-19s head to Kamuzu Stadium on Saturday morning to face Griffin Stars, with kick-off set for 8:00 AM.
The young Maule have been in excellent form, winning four straight matches in the second round of the Blantyre District Youth Football League. Their resilience was evident on Sunday when they came from behind twice to defeat Ntopwa Youth.
Another victory this weekend would stretch their winning run to five and keep them firmly in the title conversation.
Women’s Team Pause for International Break
The Women’s Team enjoy a break this week due to the FIFA Women’s International Window, as Malawi host the Three Nations Tournament at Bingu National Stadium from Friday to Sunday. Zambia and Zimbabwe are the invited teams as the Scorchers prepare for the 2026 WAFCON Finals.
Bullets proudly contribute three players to the national team camp — goalkeeper Thokozani Mwase and defenders Bernadetta Mkandawire and Lyna James.
Before the break, the Women secured a confidence-boosting 2-0 away win over MK Academy in Mzuzu, lifting them to third place in the NBM Women’s Championship standings.
With crucial fixtures ahead and all teams pushing in strong league positions, it promises to be another exciting week for The People’s Team.
