Nyasa Big Bullets Reserves are eyeing a fourth silverware this season as they face Silver Strikers Reserves in the final of the Aubrey Dimba Trophy on Sunday.

The junior Bullets coach Enos Chatama believes his boys are ready to take the trophy to Blantyre after the final whistle at the Aubrey Dimba Ground in Mchinji tomorrow afternoon.

The team arrived in Mchinji on Friday ahead of the showdown against the Central Region Football Association League side.

Chatama told club media ahead of the final that he was very optimistic that his boys were ready for their last game of the season away in the Central Region.

Invited to represent the Southern Region Football Association (SRFA) League in the competition organized by Aubrey Dimba, Bullets Reserves overcame St. Gabriel’s Medicals in the Round of 16 as well as Extreme FC and Kamuzu Barracks in the quarter and semifinals, respectively.

“We have come from a far in this competition. We played and won all the three games without going into penalties. I believe my boys are ready for the game against Silver Strikers Reserves. We are not afraid of any team and we are ready for the showdown,” he challenged.

Bullets Reserves played the last two games without some of his key players due to national team engagements and injuries, but now almost all of Chatama’s regulars apart from Innocent Msowoya and Stanley Billiat are available.

“The good news is that almost every player is here expect Billiat and Msowoya who are still out. Of course having all the players is nor a guarantee that you will win the match, we believe in every player and I am very hopeful that those who will be entrusted to do the job on Sunday will deliver and we will walk out of Aubrey Dimba Ground with a trophy.”

In the Round of 16, Silver Strikers Reserves won 4-3 on penalties against  Joseph FC following a 1-1 draw in regulation time, before registering another 4-3 penalty shootout victory over Wimbe United following a goalless 90 minutes.

In the semis, the junior Bankers beat Bright Stars 8-1 after a 1-1 draw in regulation time.

This will be the first time for Bullets Reserves and Silver Strikers Reserves to play against each other.
