Silver Strikers vs Bullets: Pasuwa’s pre-match interview

Nyasa Big Bullets head coach Kalisto Pasuwa spoke to the media on Thursday ahead of his side’s trip to Silver Stadium on Saturday for a TNM Super League encounter against Silver Strikers.

In his pre-match press conference, Pasuwa downplayed suggestions that his team is under pressure facing the number one team, as he also spoke about the squad he is taking to the Capital City .

Here is every word from the head coach’s brief conference with the media…

This is a top of the table clash, how are you looking forward to the game against Silver Strikers on Saturday?

“A good game involving top two teams. They are first on the table and we [are] second. Us as Bullets, we prepare each and every game as it comes. There is no big team, there is no small team and that’s how we look at the league itself. We advise the players to prepare well for each and every game coming, so Silver Strikers, being top of the table and title contenders, we have put everything in place to win the game. Games are only won when the attitude is okay, you have prepared well and we hope that the boys will play according to how we have been training here.”

Bullets need to beat such teams to prove your intentions, not so?

“Yeah, we would say so but again, for one to be champion, you don’t need to beat Silver Strikers only, you need to beat each and every team that comes. If you can see, the games which are giving us problems are those teams in the bottom of the log table, so us, we just prepare physically, mentally and tactically on the boys and then we go and play the game as it comes.”

How can you explain the squad you are travelling with to Lilongwe?

“We have got a big pool of players to select from. Yes, we are having some injuries but again, we have some replacements that are in the team and given them a chance, I think they will prove to us that they are part of the players that were registered to play for the team.”

A second big game within seven days, has this put pressure on your players?

“We wouldn’t say that. Like I said before, we just prepare for any team that is coming in front of us no matter it’s Civil, Wanderers or Silver Strikers, we just prepare them the same way we do when playing any other team hence the reason why you have seen me juggling with the players to try to balance the energy levels in them, so I think it’s expected to prepare well from this side as coaches.”
