Match Officials confirmed for Tigers vs Bullets clash

The Super League of Malawi has confirmed the officiating team for FCB Nyasa Big Bullets’ TNM Super League fixture against Mighty Tigers at Mpira Stadium this Saturday.

Mayamiko Kanjere will take charge as centre referee, bringing his wealth of experience to one of the season’s key matches.

This clash carries significant weight in the 2025 league title race. Bullets currently sit second on 62 points from 28 matches, three points behind leaders Mighty Wanderers (65). Silver Strikers are in third with 57 points.

All three title contenders are in action simultaneously this weekend: Bullets face relegation-threatened Mighty Tigers, Wanderers host Moyale Barracks, and Silver Strikers travel to Champion Stadium to play MAFCO FC.

Referee – Mayamiko Kanjere

Kanjere is one of Malawi’s most experienced and respected referees, having overseen numerous high-profile matches in the TNM Super League and national cup competitions. Known for his calm authority and ability to manage tense encounters, he has become a trusted official for title-deciding fixtures.

This season, Kanjere has already officiated two Bullets matches: the 4-3 win over Civil Service United, a thrilling contest requiring precise game management, and the 3-0 Blantyre derby loss to Mighty Wanderers on 26 October, a high-pressure encounter that tested his control.

Saturday’s assignment will be his third Bullets appearance of the season, and his experience will be crucial as Maule aim to close the gap at the top of the table against a determined Mighty Tigers side.

Assistant Referee 1 – Wales Chisi

Chisi will make his third appearance involving Bullets this season, having previously assisted in the 4-3 win over Civil Service United. His first 2025 match was the 3-0 victory against Moyale Barracks at Kamuzu Stadium in June. Overall, Chisi has handled six Bullets matches over the past three seasons, demonstrating consistency and reliability on the sidelines.

Assistant Referee 2 – McHastings Kanjati

Kanjati will make his second Bullets appearance of the 2025 campaign, having assisted Mwai Msungama in the 2-1 win over Silver Strikers in October.

Fourth Official – Cedric Mwachumu

Mwachumu returns to this fixture as the fourth official, having previously handled Bullets’ first-round meeting with Mighty Tigers as the centre referee. This will be his fourth overall Bullets appearance, including three TNM Super League matches and one friendly against Changalume Barracks in Balaka in May. He made his debut as lead official during the 3-1 league win over Karonga United last December.

Match Assessor – Damson Banda

Banda will assess his third Bullets match since 2023, and his second this season after handling the 3-0 win over Chitipa United in Blantyre on 18 May.
