FCB Nyasa Big Bullets return to TNM Super League action on Thursday afternoon with a midweek trip to Lilongwe to face Kamuzu Barracks at Civo Stadium.
The Super League of Malawi has appointed Godfrey Nkhakananga as the centre referee for the second-round tie, leading a familiar and experienced officiating team.
Bullets enter the fixture sitting top of the standings with 53 points, following Sunday’s thrilling 4-3 victory over Civil Service United at Kamuzu Stadium in our 23rd match of the campaign.
With Mighty Wanderers—second with 52 points—set to face Mighty Tigers on Wednesday, The People’s Team will look to extend their advantage at the summit as the title race intensifies.
Kamuzu Barracks, known for their intensity and competitive edge at home, will be eager to test Bullets at Civo Stadium, setting up a highly charged midweek encounter in the capital — especially after losing 4-0 in the first-round meeting in Blantyre.
Referee – Godfrey Nkhakananga
Nkhakananga returns to handle another Bullets vs Kamuzu Barracks encounter this season.
His most recent Bullets assignment was last month when he officiated our FDH Bank Cup quarterfinal against The Soldiers at Kamuzu Stadium.
Thursday’s match will be his fifth Bullets fixture, having taken charge four times as centre referee and once as fourth official.
Assistant Referee 1 – Yohane Chiutika
Chiutika remains active in officiating Bullets fixtures this season.
He was on the lines for our league opener against Silver Strikers, before handling our away match against Dedza Dynamos in May, and our visit to Mafco at Champions Stadium in Mponela in August.
Thursday’s fixture will be his fourth Bullets assignment of the season.
Assistant Referee 2 – Yonas Jonas
The Dwangwa-based Jonas will be handling his first Bullets match since 2023.
He last officiated us in August that year when he ran the line for our away match against Mafco FC at Chitowe Stadium—a match where Nkhakananga served as centre referee.
This midweek assignment reunites the pair on a Bullets game after two years.
Fourth Official – Mercy Mziya
The Lilongwe-based Mziya last took charge of a Bullets fixture in November 2022, when we drew 1-1 away to Karonga United in the Airtel Top 8 quarterfinal second leg.
She has previously overseen two Bullets fixtures, the first being our 2-1 win over Mafco at Chitowe in November 2021, which secured our spot in the Airtel Top 8 semifinals.
Thursday’s clash will be her third Bullets assignment.
Match Assessor – Martha Nyekanyeka
A seasoned assessor, Nyekanyeka will oversee her second Bullets match this season after evaluating our league opener against Silver Strikers in April.
She reunites with familiar colleagues, having worked with both Nkhakananga and Chiutika in that season-opening fixture.
