Pasuwa confirms two players are back from injuries

It’s Matchweek 10 of this TNM Super League campaign and FCB Nyasa Big Bullets will be on the road to the capital city to take on newcomers Creck Sporting Club on Sunday.

Ahead of the away tie at Civo Stadium, head coach Kalisto Pasuwa has provided an injury update on his players who have been on the sidelines.

Bullets return to action after a two-week break due to the FIFA International Break and the demise of Malawi’s Vice President, Dr Saulos Klaus Chilima, and eight others in a plane crash in Mzimba last week.

The People’s Team will travel to Lilongwe seeking redemption following our first loss this season at the hands of league leaders Silver Strikers at Kamuzu Stadium before the break.

With injuries crippling the defending champions, Pasuwa has a sigh of relief following the return of Chikumbutso Salima and Frank Willard to the training pitch with the hope that they regain match fitness soon.

“Yes [I can confirm that Salima and Willard] are back. But remember, these players have been out of action for a while. Frank Willard has been out of action for seven months, as such we need to prepare him well otherwise, we can take him early and end up injuring him again,” Pasuwa told club media.

“We need to manage these players with caution. Chikumbutso also started running and he also needs to be managed well so that we bring him to full fitness.”

Our head coach also provided an update on Ephraim Kondowe, Maxwell Phodo, Mike Mkwate, Alick Lungu, Clever Mkungula and Colin Mujuru, disclosing that the six players are still on the road to recovery.

The defending champions will make back-to-back trips to Lilongwe where after facing Creck, they will return to play Kamuzu Barracks next week.

Quadruple winners last season, Bullets are fifth in the TNM Super League standings with 14 points, 11 behind Silver Strikers.
