Forward Ephraim Kondowe has been voted your FCB Nyasa Big Bullets Player of the Month for August.
It is his maiden Hubertus Clausius POM award in his five-month-old Bullets career after being voted by the fans as the standout performer last month.
Kondowe walked out of August having scored four big goals for The People’s Team in seven matches coming on as a substitute.
He netted a solo strike in the CAF Champions League in our return leg against Dragon FC to help us progress to the second preliminary round of the continental competition at the Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe with a 3-0 victory on aggregate.
That is already after he had crucially netted twice for us domestically and went on to finish the month by scoring in our classic 3-2 comeback win over Civo United at the Kamuzu Stadium on 30 August.
Those stats helped us proceed to the second preliminary round of the CAF Champions League, top the TNM Super League of Malawi standings, as well as book a ticket to the semi-finals of the FDH Bank Cup.
The monthly award comes as a timely boost to Kondowe who is likely to take part in our CAF Champions League first-leg home fixture against Democratic Republic of Congo’s giants TP Mazembe this coming Sunday in Lilongwe.
Along with Kondowe on the nomination list were Chawanangwa Gumbo and Gomezgani Chirwa, but it was the striker who got more votes from the fans. Truly he deserves it.
Congrats on your first Hubertus Clausius POTM accolade Ephraim. Add more!
