FCB Nyasa Big Bullets welcome Baka City in the TNM Super League at Kamuzu Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
The 2023 quadruple winners collected their first three points last Sunday following a 3-0 hammering of Chitipa United away in Karonga.
Kalisto Pasuwa’s men will be eager to register their first win at home in this new campaign, having played to a goalless draw against Mighty Waka Waka Tigers a fortnight ago.
To bag maximum points, the defending champions must overcome an unfamiliar side as the newly promoted side will be visiting Blantyre for the first time since their arrival in the elite league this month.
Form Guide
Bullets return home following a very successful Northern Region outing where we recorded a convincing 3-0 victory over Chitipa United on Sunday through Babatunde Adepoju, Ephraim Kondowe and Patrick Mwaungulu’s strikes.
It was a relief for Pasuwa’s men who had two draws in their opening two matches against Dedza Dynamos and Tigers.
It was also a sweet revenge for the Malawi champions, who lost 1-0 away to Chitipa the previous season.
Bullets will push for all the points to keep climbing up the ladder to keep pace with the current log leaders, rivals Mighty Mukuru Wanderers, before next week’s Blantyre derby.
On the other hand, The People’s Team will be facing a side that hasn’t won any of their last three opening league games.
Our Matchweek 4 opponents lost 1-0 to Karonga United in their opening match before losing 2-1 to Mzuzu City Hammers in the second game.
Before Saturday’s encounter, Baka City played out to a goalless draw with Mafco FC.
They have only managed to score a goal against three goals conceded.
Head-to-Head
This will be the first-ever meeting between the two teams. It will also be the first-ever visit to Kamuzu Stadium for Baka.
Team News
Pasuwa will be without goalkeeper Innocent Nyasulu due to illness, but Richard Chimbamba has recovered ahead of the game.
Bullets will also have to face the rookies without Alick Lungu, Chikumbutso Salima, Maxwell Phodo, Frank Willard, Mike Mkwate and Clever Mkungula, who are all out due to injuries.
