We return to Kamuzu Stadium on Wednesday afternoon for our second TNM Super League encounter, this time facing Creck Sporting Club.
This contest arrives just four days after we hosted the visitors in the first leg of the Airtel Top 8 Cup quarterfinals—a match that ended in a stalemate with neither side finding the back of the net.
Anticipation is high for this fixture. Peter Mponda’s men will be aiming to bounce back, seeking a statement victory, while Creck hopes to once again frustrate The People’s Team on home turf.
FORM GUIDE
Bullets step onto the pitch fresh from their goalless draw against Creck in the Airtel Top 8 tie. Prior to Saturday’s match, Mponda’s squad kickstarted the 2025 league campaign on a positive note, edging out Silver Strikers 1-0 in Lilongwe.
Creck, meanwhile, endured a tough start to their league season, falling 4-1 to Dedza Dynamos two weeks ago, before holding Bullets to a goalless draw in Blantyre—a result they celebrated ahead of the Airtel Top 8’s second leg.
HEAD-TO-HEAD
This will mark only the fourth encounter between Bullets and Creck since the visitors’ promotion from the Chipiku Central Region Football League at the end of the 2023 season.
Our inaugural meeting at Civo Stadium in Lilongwe ended in a 1-1 draw after Bullets surrendered a second-half lead.
In the return fixture, we prevailed 3-2. Maxwell Phodo and Babatunde Adepoju scored late in the first half to put us ahead, but quickfire goals from Muhamad Sulumba after the break drew Creck level, before Bullets netted a winner in an exciting conclusion.
Our most recent clash—the first leg of the knockout tie—resulted in a goalless draw, as Joseph Kamwendo’s men set out to frustrate the People’s Team with a defensive display throughout the 90 minutes.
Buoyed by home advantage, The People’s Team will be eager to break down Creck’s resolute defence, which proved difficult to unlock despite dominating possession last time out.
Currently, Bullets occupy seventh place in the standings with three points, while Creck sit 15th, yet to earn a point after their opening league defeat.
TEAM NEWS
Chikumbutso Henderson remains out of action due to injury. The towering centre-back, who joined from Mzuzu City Hammers earlier this year, is still waiting to make his debut for the Bullets.
Peter Banda and Chrispin Mapemba are also still on the road to recovery, continuing their rehabilitation from long-term injuries.
Meanwhile, Zambian left-back Dominic Musonda is also sidelined, having yet to return from his home country where he has been processing documentation for his work permit in Malawi following our Sapitwa 4 tournament matches.
Frank Willard was present with the team during Saturday’s match against Creck, but having just returned from injury, he was not available for selection in the Airtel Top 8 quarter-final first leg tie.
