Sean McBrams carved a place for himself in FCB Nyasa Big Bullets’ history on Saturday afternoon, scoring his maiden professional goal—and his first for the club—with a spectacular long-range strike that capped a commanding 4-0 victory against Kamuzu Barracks in the TNM Super League at Kamuzu Stadium.
Coming on at halftime with Bullets already holding a 3-0 advantage, McBrams wasted no time making his presence felt. In the 75th minute, he latched onto a perfectly timed pass from Wongani Lungu in the midfield. With composure, he took a touch, beat a man, steadied himself, and fired an unstoppable 24-yard shot that left Kamuzu Barracks goalkeeper Hastings Banda motionless.
Reflecting on his debut goal, McBrams shared, “It feels amazing to score my first goal for the team. The coach told me that when I’m in a one-on-one situation, I should take the defender on and that’s exactly what I did down the left flank. I placed the shot into the top left corner. Scoring my first goal as a professional player means a lot to me.”
His stunning effort provided the final flourish to an already dominant Bullets performance. Earlier goals from Mike Mkwate, Chikumbutso Salima, and Wongani Lungu set the tone, but it was McBrams’ spectacular strike that stole the headlines and showcased Bullets’ promising young talent and squad depth.
For McBrams, the match will be forever etched in memory as the day he netted his first professional goal with an emphatic strike at the Soccer Mecca, Kamuzu Stadium.
