Starting XI: Bullets name line-up to face Blue Eagles

FCB Nyasa Big Bullets head coach Peter Mponda has named his starting XI to face Blue Eagles in this afternoon’s TNM Super League fixture at Nankhaka Stadium.

The People’s Team are looking to bounce back and reclaim top spot in the standings following back-to-back defeats to Mighty Wanderers in the league and the FDH Bank Cup semifinal.

Innocent Nyasulu keeps his place between the posts after another composed display in the derby last Sunday.

Captain Frank Willard anchors the midfield alongside Yankho Singo and Paul Master, while Yamikani Mologeni, Blessings Mpokera, and Aaron Chilipa form the defensive line expected to contain the Eagles’ attack.

Wongani Lungu operates just behind the attacking trio of Chrispin Mapemba, Chikumbutso Salima, and Babatunde Adepoju, who once again leads the line for Maule this afternoon.

Mologeni earns his first start after 11 matches in 13 weeks, having last featured in the starting lineup on 3 August when Bullets defeated Mafco FC 1-0 away at Champions Stadium.

The defender impressed that afternoon, providing the assist for Chikumbutso Salima’s winning goal. His return today comes after coming off the bench in Sunday’s Blantyre Derby.

Paul Master also returns to the starting lineup after being named on the bench last weekend, having previously started six consecutive matches before the cup semifinal.

Chrispin Mapemba, meanwhile, makes his second straight start following his long-awaited comeback from a year-long injury layoff. The winger will be looking to continue building rhythm and sharpness after impressing on his return.

Mponda has named a strong bench packed with experience and attacking options should the game demand changes in the second half.

Among the substitutes are goalkeeper Austin Chirambo, defender Andrew Jovinala, and Henry Chiwaya, providing depth across the backline.

Chawanangwa Gumbo adds stability in midfield, while Peter Banda and Sean McBrams offer creativity and width. Up front, Hassan Kajoke, Ephraim Kondowe, and Maxwell Phodo provide attacking firepower.

Kick-off is at 14:30, and the match will be streamed live on FIFA+.
