Gilbert Chirwa has named FCB Nyasa Big Bullets’ starting XI for this afternoon’s Castel Challenge Cup Round of 32 clash away to Songwe Border United at Karonga Stadium.
It is Chirwa’s second match in charge since taking over as interim head coach two weeks ago, having opened his tenure with an emphatic 4-0 victory over Mzuzu City Hammers in the final match of the 2025 TNM Super League season.
For today’s encounter, Chirwa has made three changes to that side.
Dominic Musonda comes into the starting XI in place of Henry Chiwaya, who is not part of the squad for the trip north.
In attack, Yamikani Mologeni replaces Chikumbutso Salima, who has been ruled out after picking up a leg injury.
Meanwhile, Ephraim Kondowe returns from injury to lead the line, following the departure of Babatunde Adepoju, who returned to his parent club after the conclusion of his loan spell at the end of December.
At the back, Edward Thengo will line up alongside Khumbo Banda and Dominic Musonda, forming the three-man defensive unit for the afternoon.
In midfield, captain Frank Willard anchors the centre of the park, with Chawanangwa Gumbo, Wongani Lungu, and Peter Banda providing support and drive in the middle.

There is also a boost on the bench, with goalkeeper Richard Chimbamba included in the matchday squad after missing the previous fixture.
The substitutes’ bench offers depth and flexibility across all departments, with Austin Chirambo also named as the second goalkeeper.
Defensive and midfield options are provided by Blessings Joseph, Yankho Singo, and Mike Mkwate, while Hassan Kajoke, Sean Mcbrams, Paul Master, and Bright Munthali give Chirwa attacking alternatives as Bullets prepare for the physical and tactical demands of a knockout tie away from home.
Bullets will be aiming to make a strong start to their Castel Challenge Cup campaign as they look to progress beyond the Round of 32 and continue their pursuit of another silverware this season.
