Starting XI: Mponda makes four changes for KB clash

Head coach Peter Mponda has named his FCB Nyasa Big Bullets starting lineup for this afternoon’s TNM Super League fixture against Kamuzu Barracks at Civo Stadium, making four changes to the side that defeated Civil Service United 4-3 on Sunday.

Innocent Nyasulu keeps his place in goal, shielded by a backline comprising Yamikani Mologeni, Blessings Mpokera, Andrew Jovinala and Aaron Chilipa.

Mologeni, who came off the bench in the second half against Civil, returns to the XI, while Jovinala makes his first appearance since the Blantyre derby four weeks ago. Chilipa, who missed our previous two matches, passes a late fitness test to reclaim his spot at left-back.

In midfield, Chawanangwa Gumbo is joined by Wongani Lungu and Chrispin Mapemba, with Chikumbutso Salima and Ephraim Kondowe supporting Babatunde Adepoju in attack. Babatunde also returns to the XI after starting on the bench last weekend.

Bullets’ bench carries strong depth for today’s clash against KB. Peter Banda, who scored in the win over Civil on Sunday, brings extra attacking threat, while Chimbamba returns after four weeks on the sidelines to reinforce the defensive options. With this mix of energy and experience, Peter Mponda has multiple ways to influence the game from the bench.

Bullets go into today’s match needing maximum points to return to the top of the TNM Super League table. Mighty Wanderers’ win on Wednesday temporarily pushed us into second place, and victory in Lilongwe will restore our lead in the title race as we continue our push to reclaim the championship.

Kick-off is at 14:30 at Civo Stadium.
