Starting XI: Mponda names squad for Tigers clash

FCB Nyasa Big Bullets head coach Peter Mponda has named his starting line-up for this afternoon’s TNM Super League away fixture against Mighty Tigers at Mpira Stadium.

Richard Chimbamba continues between the posts, starting for a third consecutive match as Bullets look to maintain defensive solidity on the road.

Mponda opts for a three-man defence, with Singo, Banda, and Musonda forming the central unit.

In midfield, captain Frank Willard is joined by Gumbo and Lungu, with the trio tasked with providing balance and control in the middle of the park.

The attacking line sees Salima, Peter Banda, and Phodo lead the charge. Phodo earns a start after a decisive cameo in last weekend’s 2-0 win over Ekhaya FC, where he opened the scoring and provided an assist.

Mponda has made three changes to the side that started against Ekhaya. Paul Master and Mike Mkwate miss out through injury, while Ephraim Kondowe, who was on the scoresheet in that victory, begins the match on the bench.

Phodo and Gumbo are all rewarded with starts after strong substitute appearances in the previous match.

Bullets will, however, be without their leading scorer this season, Babatunde Adepoju, who is suspended for this encounter.

Kick-off is at 14:30 CAT at Mpira Stadium.

The People’s Team head into the match targeting maximum points as they continue their pursuit of league leaders Mighty Wanderers, who are also in action this afternoon against Moyale Barracks at Kamuzu Stadium.

Bullets currently sit second on 62 points, three behind the Nomads, with the title race entering a decisive phase.
