Bullets, CIC renew partnership

Share

The partnership between FCB Nyasa Big Bullets and CIC Africa will continue for the next three years following its renewal on Thursday.

Bullets and the insurance company initially entered into a partnership in 2021, before its expiry in May this year.

The new agreement will see CIC pumping K30 million into the operations of The People’s Team, hiking the sponsorship package from K20 million.

“We have been working with Bullets for a long time, and in the three years we have been working together, CIC has benefited a lot. We have been growing together as commercial entities, and by renewing this partnership, we believe we will reach a mass market, and we feel FCB Nyasa Big Bullets will take us to the next level,” CIC managing director Zachary Wambugu told journalists in Lilongwe.

He revealed: “The first agreement was very productive for us. We were able to achieve a great milestone in terms of brand visibility. Insurance needs to get to where the people are, and Bullets has pushed us to reach the masses during their matches and campaigns, giving us a lot of business for the products that we have at CIC. It’s a great investment. We have grown to the next level, getting hundreds of millions by this partnership.”

Bullets acting chief executive officer, Albert Chigoga, was delighted to have CIC as one of the club’s partners for another three years.

“Looking at our economy, it’s not easy for a football club to get such money from companies like CIC. It’s exciting for us as this money will help us a lot as we enhance the relationship that we established in 2021.

“We will make sure that CIC continues benefiting from this partnership. Using our support base, we’re going to support the business of CIC until the years to come,” said Chigoga.

CIC is a leading cooperative insurer in Africa, pricing insurance and related financial services in Malawi, Kenya, Uganda and South Sudan.

The Group offers a wide range of products including general insurance, life assurance, medical insurance and asset management services.
