Bullets to face Mafco in Airtel Top 8 final

Share

FCB Nyasa Big Bullets will face Mafco in the final of the Airtel Top 8 slated for the Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe on 6 January.

This was confirmed on Tuesday afternoon after the Salima-based soldiers came from behind late in the second half to beat Silver Strikers 3-1 on penalties following a 1-1 stalemate at the end of 90 minutes.

The People’s Team, who advanced to a third cup final this season after defeating Blue Eagles and Mighty Mukuru Wanderers in the Airtel Top 8 and Castel Challenge Cup semi-finals, respectively, were waiting to know their opponents in this competition following delays the Nomads had over their first leg result against the Central Bankers.

This means Bullets will face Mafco FC for the second time in a cup final, having beaten Pritchard Mwansa’s side 3-1 to retain the FDH Bank Cup in October.

But before facing Mafco in January, Kalisto Pasuwa’s charges have a task on Saturday in the capital as they will face Pieter De Jhong’s men in the final of the Castel Challenge Cup on 30 December.

Bullets are eyeing a quadruple this season after winning the FDH Bank Cup and the TNM Super League.
