Bullets U19s to face Ekhaya in African Herbal Cup opener

FCB Nyasa Big Bullets Under 19s will kick-off their 2025 African Herbal Mixture Cup campaign with debutants Ekhaya Youth on Saturday afternoon at Mpira Stadium.

The match, which serves as the tournament’s opening fixture, promises to set the tone for what is expected to be a fiercely competitive season.

Young Maule will be looking to start their title defense on the high note while their opponents are making their debut in the tournament.

Bullets will be eyeing a third trophy this season after winning the African Herbal Mixture-sponsored cup for two consecutive seasons starting with the inaugural 2023 edition.

Our U19s are in Group B of the competition alongside Ntopwa FC, Ekhaya Youth and Airsport United.

Coach Yamikani Fodya shared his thoughts ahead of Saturday’s tie against the new entrants.

“We are the defending champions, and that comes with pressure. Ekhaya may be new to this competition, but they have nothing to lose and will come out fighting. We must respect every team and focus on our game plan,” Fodya told club media.

He highlighted the importance of starting the campaign with a win, saying, “The first match sets the momentum for the rest of the tournament. We want to defend our title and that starts with a strong performance on Saturday.”
