FCB Nyasa Big Bullets Women’s match against Ndirande Soccer Giants was abandoned on Sunday afternoon due to heavy rains that swept through Mpira Stadium in Chiwembe, Blantyre.
The game, which had only begun to heat up, was halted after 20 minutes of play.
At the time of the disruption, the visitors led by a single goal, courtesy of a stunning strike by their star forward, Sarah Mulimbika.
Despite the best efforts of the grounds staff, the rain showed no signs of relenting, and the referee was left with no choice but to call off the match.
The game will be replayed on a date that the league organisers will communicate in the coming days.
