All-time leading goal-scorer for FCB Nyasa Big Bullets Women’s team Vanessa Chikupira put up a glittering display as she fired Malawi to a 17-0 win over Seychelles on Monday afternoon at the Mpira Stadium in Blantyre.
She was one of the three Scorchers players who hit a hat-trick in what was a preparatory match ahead of the 2023 Hollywoodbets Cosafa Women’s Championship scheduled to take place from the 4th to 15th October in Gauteng, South Africa.
It was indeed an applauding performance from the wing forward, who always found herself in dangerous positions and deserved to be the first one to complete a hat-trick in the tie before substitutes Chikondi Gondwe and the China-based Temwa Chawinga had to come off the bench to follow suit.
In the honour of representing the country, Chikupira, who played 45 minutes before coach Lovemore Fazili made nine changes at the break, was not the only Bullets player as defender Bernadette Mkandawire also took part, lasting the whole 90 minutes against the visiting Seychelles.
Chikupira, who has the highest goal tally since the formation of our Bullets Women’s team, is our leading top scorer in the ongoing FAM Women’s Football Southern Region League with 16 goals in four matches.
