Clyde Senaji has signed a new FCB Nyasa Big Bullets contract, keeping him at the Club until February 2026.
The Kenyan centre-back joined The People’s Team at the start of the 2023 season and has been a key member of Kalisto Pasuwa’s quadruple-winning side.
Senaji made 30 appearances to win the FDH Bank Cup, TNM Super League, Castel Challenge Cup and the Airtel Top 8.
The 27-year-old also featured in all four CAF Champions League matches Bullets played in the 2023 campaign.
Senaji’s current contract was due to expire next month but he has now put pen to paper on a two-year extension.
He said after agreeing to a new deal: “It was an easy decision for me to make to stay here because I had a good season here in Malawi where we won everything. My strong bond with Malawians and everybody associated with this great club also convinced me to have some more time here.
“I am a person who is open to new ideas and that’s why I would only stay for a year at my previous clubs, but I thought it wise to continue my chapter here with The People’s Team and I am looking forward to the 2024 season.
“It will not be easy for us in 2024 because of what we achieved last season. We just need to prepare very well so that we handle the pressure coming from our competitors because it will be a very tough campaign for us. Teams will come hard for us to challenge our dominance hence the need to fully prepare for what’s coming on us.”
The defender is the fourth player to extend his contract with Pasuwa’s side after Ephraim Kondowe, Anthony Mfune and Precious Phiri also committed their future to The People’s Team until 2027.
