Inside Bullets this week

Share

After a successful weekend for the first team and U19s, our focus has shifted to another exciting schedule, with the much-anticipated Blantyre derby being our highlight of the week.

As Kalisto Pasuwa’s men will welcome neighbours Mighty Mukuru Wanderers, our reserves will also be in action.

Here’s what’s in store for The People’s Team.

First Team

After collecting our first full points in the league at home this season with a 2-1 win over Baka City on Saturday, Pasuwa’s charges will turn their attention to the biggest fixture in the land.

It promises to be a very exciting derby as the two Malawian rivals are just separated on goal difference after collecting eight points, two behind Silver Strikers, who are sitting top of the table from four games each.

The red and blue sides of Blantyre city have started the new campaign on a similar note as they all have won two games and drew two. Pasuwa will be hoping to claim all the points to get his season started as he eyes a sixth league title with the Malawi champions, who swept every domestic trophy in the 2024 campaign.

The last league meeting between the two rivals ended 1-1 at Kamuzu Stadium in November.

Reserves

Our reserves started their new campaign in the ThumbsUp Southern Region Football League with a goalless draw away to Mangochi United on Saturday.

Enos Chatama’s boys will now switch their focus to their second game when they travel to Chilomoni to face The Boys in a midweek fixture.

After Thursday’s action, our reserves will travel to Mchinji to grace the launch of a new stadium in the district on Saturday.

Women

Maggie Chombo’s ladies will continue fine-tuning for the upcoming Goshen City FAM Women’s Championship slated for 13th May at Civo Stadium in Lilongwe.

Bullets Women will face MDF Lioness for a place in the semi-finals as they aim to reclaim the national title.

Under 19s

They are in a celebratory mood after successfully retaining the African Herbal Mixture Under-19 Cup with a 2-0 victory over Manchester Motors at Kamuzu Stadium on Sunday.

Our developmental side will however not have time to relax as they have to return to the training pitch to start preparing for the FCB Youth Championship expected to kick off soon.

We wish all our teams all the best in their next activities!
