Club president Konrad Buckle has saluted FCB Nyasa Big Bullets for a successful 2023 season, describing it as a milestone.

He congratulated the team when head coach Kalisto Pasuwa and captain Precious Sambani presented the FDH Bank Cup and the TNM Super League to him on Tuesday.

Bullets retained the two trophies and are currently chasing the Airtel Top 8 and the Castel Challenge Cup as Pasuwa’s side eyes a quadruple this season.

“I have a lot to say, but to the coach, the management, the players and the entire team, this is again a fantastic start or end to our season. To have two major trophies in our cabinet already is a milestone.

“I know that we have been playing with endless injuries, and it has been a tough season. It was tough to stay ahead but look at what you have achieved. You must be proud of yourselves.”

Buckle is hopeful Maule will bag another trophy or two at the end of this term, with The People’s Team already in the final of the Airtel Top 8 and the quarter-finals of the Castel Challenge Cup.

“What you guys have achieved already is something extraordinary, especially in Malawi, [and] I do not doubt that another trophy is coming,” said the club president.

He added: “That’s what the fans should understand, the hard work, the dedication and everything else that goes in behind so that we keep on winning these cups. So, congratulations to all and I wish you good luck with the other two trophies.”

In his remarks, the head coach stated that the team’s achievements are built on the endless support he gets from the board and management.

“It was a tough season, but the president and the management made sure we got all the support. They allowed me to travel with more players because we have been on the road a lot.

“It would have been difficult to play and win these games with the very same players. By rotating, we were able to balance and share energy,” said Pasuwa, who reiterated that the 2023 season has been one of the toughest since his arrival in Malawi in 2018.
