Pasuwa issues injury update ahead of Blantyre derby

FCB Nyasa Big Bullets head coach Kalisto Pasuwa has issued an injury update ahead of the Blantyre derby against Mighty Mukuru Wanderers in the TNM Super League at Kamuzu Stadium on Saturday.

Six members of Pasuwa’s squad were not available for our away fixture to Kamuzu Barracks last weekend and on Wednesday the gaffer disclosed that one more player had joined the injury list going into Matchweek 12 of this campaign.

“We still have the six players that are injured and will continue being on the sidelines for the next weeks. We also have Eric Kaonga joining the list of players that will not be part of this [weekend’s] match against [Wanderers],” he told club media.

In the latest update, the Pasuwa indicated that three out of the seven players have started doing light training.

“Nickson Nyasulu, Chinedu Okafor and Yankho Singo have started doing light training, but Clyde Senaji, Stanley Billiat and Mike Mkwate haven’t yet returned. We are still assessing them apart from Mike who will be on the sidelines for months.

“Senaji and Mkwate suffered fractures to their legs whilst Singo was down with a viral infection, with Okafor recovering from his ankle injury,” Pasuwa added. “Kaonga also has a viral infection well and he hasn’t trained since yesterday.”

Pasuwa and his charges will be going into Saturday’s fixture against our rivals looking for all points as we look to keep pace with log leaders, Silver Strikers, who are top of the table with 24 points from 10 games.

The People’s Team is second in the standings with 21 points from the same number of games as the Central Bankers. The two sides have a 15-goal-difference with Bullets scoring 20 goals and Silver finding the back of the net 19 times, conceding five and four, respectively.
