Put in a one-on-one situation by a Yankho Singo fine pass, Billiat did not quiver but coolly slotted the ball home to open our scoring in our 2-0 home victory over Civil Service United in the first leg of our Airtel Top 8 quarter-final tie.
Gumbo vs Civil Service United – 14 September
After a clever run, Gumbo sealed the win against the Servants with a crisp low effort into the far bottom corner, leaving a full-stretched Rahaman John helpless. The build-up and the finish made intriguing scenery.
Babatunde vs Chitipa United – 22 September
Showing true traits of a poacher, the Nigerian striker was in the right place when the visiting goalkeeper fumbled a fierce strike from Billiat, giving us the first goal in our 4-2 win over The Lions of Fort Hill in the TNM Super League at Kamuzu Stadium.
Sambani vs Chitipa United – 22 September
The overlapping defender has many spectaculars in his goal collection, and the one against Chitipa belongs in it. Talk of a different way of executing a free-kick just outside the box; Sambani opted to play a one-two with Petro before cleanly thumping the ball into the net to double our lead.
Babatunde vs Chitipa United – 22 September
To secure his brace, the forward battled for possession in the box before pivoting and firing a shot that deflected past the keeper, extending our lead to 3-0.
Phodo vs Chitipa United – 22 September
On the receiving end of an immaculate delivery from Sambani, the attacker defied gravity to over-jump everyone in the box and execute a colossal header past the ‘keeper to make it 4-1, preventing any nervy ending to the tie.
Phodo vs Creck Sporting Club – 25 September
A pulsating finish that has class written all over it! In the area, he gets set up by an intelligent backheel from Adepoju, and for the first time, he curves the ball into the far corner. He had little time to react, but all the same, he delivered a fabulous goal to get us going against the TNM Super League debutants.
Babatunde vs Creck Sporting United – 25 September
With another piece of magic, Baba continued to shine in September. With the quick and delightful exchange of passes with Stanley Billiat, our hit-man penetrated through the middle of the visiting defence before coming up with a neat finish with his weaker foot.
Phodo vs Creck Sporting United – 25 September
The goal was earlier awarded to our number 10, Ernest Petro, but after a video review, it was Phodo who gave us the winner through an exquisite delivery down the left into the far corner, leaving the visiting goalie helpless.
