The Super League of Malawi has postponed all TNM Super League matches this weekend as the country mourns State Vice-President, Dr Saulos Klaus Chilima.

Malawi is observing a 21-day mourning period following the passing of the country’s VP, who died along with eight other officials following a tragic plane crash in Mzimba on Monday.

“SULOM is shocked and saddened by the tragic demise of State Vice President Right Honourable Dr Saulos Klaus Chilima and all those who passed alongside him in the plane crash.

“Our thoughts and condolences are with their families, friends, and the entire Nation during this difficult time. Dr. Chilima’s legacy will forever be remembered in our hearts,” reacted the Super League of Malawi.

SULOM announced: “In view of this, all Super League games this weekend have been rescheduled to later dates.”

Following the just-ended FIFA International Break, FCB Nyasa Big Bullets were scheduled to travel to Lilongwe to face Creck Sporting Club at Civo Stadium on Saturday.

Kalisto Pasuwa’s men are looking to bounce back from the 1-0 home defeat against league leaders, Silver Strikers, at Kamuzu Stadium 10 days ago.

After nine games this new campaign, the defending champions are fifth in the standings with 14 points, 11 behind the Central Bankers, who are hoping to clinch their first league title in 10 years.
