FCB Nyasa Big Bullets Women have three representatives in the Malawi Under 17 squad preparing for the African Union Sports Council Region 5 Youth Games.

On Monday, strikers Asimenye Mwanyongo and Linda Nyangu alongside midfielder Leah Mussa, joined 37 other young female footballers for the two-week camping at the Henry Henderson Institute in Blantyre.

The 11th edition of the AUSC Region 5 Under 17 games is scheduled to be held from May 2 to 11, 2025, in Windhoek, Namibia.

“This camp marks a critical step in preparing athletes for Namibia games,” states the Malawi National Sports Council.

“This camp is the first of three planned camps in the lead-up to the Nambia games. The second camp is scheduled for December 2024, and the final camp in April 2025.”

Nyangu was also part of the Malawi U17 girls’ team that participated at the COSAFA Under 17 Girls’ Championship, which was played as part of the Region 5 Youth Games in Lilongwe in 2022, while Mwanyongo and Malekano have received their first call-ups after joining The People’s Team last season.
