Bullets U19s smash Lyzee United 4-0

FCB Nyasa Big Bullets Under 19s delivered a dominant display, thrashing Lyzee United 4-0 in a thrilling encounter in the FCB Katswiri Under 20 League at Mpira Stadium on Sunday.

Our youngsters’ aggressive intent was evident from the outset, with Vincent Kampira’s early ball into the visitors’ goal area setting the tone for a convincing victory.

What happened

The match erupted into a thrilling encounter as Yamikani Fodya’s boys sought an early breakthrough. In the 1st minute, Kampira’s inviting cross begged for a finish, but unfortunately, no one was on hand to capitalise.

Our U19s dominated the opening exchanges, earning a corner kick in the 3rd minute. Kampira’s clever interplay with Owen Themu led to another set-piece. However, Kampira’s effort whizzed wide.

Dominic Kayamba’s powerful shot hit the side netting two minutes later, underscoring Bullets’ control.

The pressure paid off in the 12th minute when Kampira slotted home the opener, courtesy of Themu’s pinpoint pass.

Bullets continued to dictate the tempo, crafting scoring opportunities with their relentless attacks. The visitors struggled to contain the hosts’ flair.

In the 27th minute, Themu doubled Bullets’ lead, capitalising on a rebound after Felix Ngalande parried away Kampira’s cross.

Kayamba sealed the first-half scoring with a stunning long-range strike in the 33rd minute, leaving the goalkeeper helpless, 3-0.

Lyzee’s lone chance came in the 40th minute, but their effort sailed wide.

Bullets made a double substitution at the restart as Blessings Lungu and Precious Chamangwana replaced Blessings Kuchanga and Charles Mkandawire. Lyzee responded with their own changes, bringing in Richard Malua and Joseph Maseko for Mervin Issah and Osman Blair.

Lyzee finally broke through with their first corner in the 60th minute, but James Wisiki expertly cleared the danger.

Fodya made another strategic substitution, introducing Justin Chipewa and Jimmy Zakazaka Junior for Gomezgani Maziya and Owen Themu. This move would prove pivotal.

Bullets won a corner in the 65th minute after Kampira’s golden opportunity was thwarted. Lyzee’s defence cleared Chamangwana’s delivery.

Zakazaka Junior completed the mission on the day with a sublime finish in the 73rd minute, courtesy of Chipewa’s pinpoint assist.

Bullets won another corner in the 78th minute, but Lyzee’s defence foiled Lungu’s quick play with Chamangwana. Kamwendo’s effort sailed straight into Ngalande.

The game ended with our Under 19s emerging victorious, 4-0 over Lyzee United.
