Patrick Mwaungulu emerged as the fans’ favourite as the FCB Nyasa Big Bullets midfielder claimed July’s Hubertus Clausius Player of the Month award.
July proved to be incredible for the 21-year-old, who, in all competitions, helped The People’s Team in heaping up 11 points from the five matches we played, finding the back of the net ten times and conceding only on two occasions.
As Mwaungulu was at the COSAFA tourney, he could only make three appearances for Kalisto Pasuwa’s side in July and out of those minutes, he scored a single goal which came during Bullets’ 3-0 victory over a Southern Region Football League side Balaka FC and hugely impressed in the other two matches with attacking influence.
In July Maule topped the 2023 TNM Super League standings as well as cruised through to the round-of-16 of the latest FDH Bank Cup.
To win the award, Mwaungulu, who is currently in Patrick Mabedi’s latest Malawi squad, earned more votes from the fans than Lanjesi Nkhoma and Blessings Mpokera who were also on the nomination list for the monthly award.
Congrats Pat, keep soaring up!
