Pasuwa’s reaction to goalless draw against Tigers

Share

The head coach provided his verdict as FCB Nyasa Big Bullets drew 0-0 against Mighty Waka Waka Tigers at Kamuzu Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Playing the first home match of the 2024 TNM Super League campaign, the defending champions were looking for a win after registering a 1-all draw in the opening game away to Dedza Dynamos last Saturday.

Kalisto Pasuwa defined Saturday’s stalemate at home as another bad day in the office as his players failed to tick.

“A game where we didn’t do much in the middle of the pack and also very slow in our build-ups. You could see that we mostly played in the defensive zone where we failed to build up to go to the creative zone and into the attacking zone.

“Like I always say, we need to be a complete team. It’s part of the learning process for these boys because today is one of those days we didn’t do much in terms of how we play.”

The defending champions faced Kau Kau without several players who travelled to Dedza last weekend due to illnesses and injury and Kalisto Pasuwa was forced to have seven players on the bench.

“When we played in Dedza, five of the players were infected by flue and they couldn’t breathe properly and they were separated from the rest of the team. When we regrouped, seven more players were affected and we had to do with the players we had. But their absence isn’t the reason why we have dropped points today. When we are building a team, every player that we register needs to prove to us that he can play for this team.

“Yes, the absentees could have given us another dimension, but I am saying that we didn’t do enough to get all the points today in all aspects of the game. We have learnt our lessons and we move to the next one.”

Pasuwa described the result as a point gained, rather than two points lost.

“It’s a point gained. Remember, we play 30 games and as Bullets, we play every game as it comes and this is one of the games where, instead of getting all the points, we got a point.”
