The inaugural Southern Region Women’s Football Association (SRWFA) Mayor’s Bonanza gets underway at Mpira Stadium on Thursday, with Bullets Women opening their campaign against Chilomoni Ladies on Friday.
FCB Nyasa Big Bullets Women will return to competitive action on Friday when they face Chilomoni Ladies at Mpira Stadium in the opening round of the inaugural Mayor’s Bonanza.
The Match 3 tie kicks off at 13:00, a day after the eight-team knockout competition begins at the same venue following confirmation of its revised schedule.
Initially due to start last weekend, the bonanza will now open on Thursday with Kukoma Ntopwa facing Bangwe All Stars at 13:00, followed by Mighty Wanderers Queens against KASO Lioness at 15:00.
Bullets will begin Friday’s programme against Chilomoni before Ekhaya and Emmanuel Bullets complete the opening round at 15:00.
For Bullets and the other National League sides from the Southern Region, the bonanza also offers valuable competitive football amid the continuing wait for the delayed start of the 2026/27 NBM Women’s Premiership.
The route ahead
Victory over Chilomoni would send Bullets into the second semi-final on Sunday, where we would face either Ekhaya or Emmanuel Bullets.
The first semi-final will bring together the winners of Thursday’s two ties, with both last-four matches scheduled for 30 August.
The competition will conclude the following weekend, with the third-place playoff and final scheduled for 5–6 September.
