The People's Team Set Sights On Blue Eagles Clash In Lilongwe

Bullets turn focus to Blue Eagles clash

FCB Nyasa Big Bullets will look to quickly return to winning ways on Saturday when we travel to Lilongwe for an FDH Bank Premiership encounter against Blue Eagles at Civo Stadium.

Gilbert Chirwa’s men head into the fixture aiming to respond after dropping points at home against Red Lions in Sunday’s goalless draw at Joyce Chitsulo Stadium in Mwanza.

The result saw Bullets slip to fourth position in the early league standings with eight points from four matches.

The People’s Team returned to training in Blantyre on Tuesday as preparations shifted toward another important assignment in the Capital City.

Blue Eagles, meanwhile, head into the fixture among the early pace setters after climbing to second place following a 2-0 away victory over Goshen City Dedza Dynamos at the weekend.

The Area 30 police side has collected nine points from four matches so far this season, winning three and losing once while scoring five goals and conceding twice.

Such a strong start has added further importance to Saturday’s meeting as both teams look to maintain momentum near the top end of the standings.

Civo Stadium remains the hosts’ temporary home venue after Nankhaka Stadium failed to meet the 2026/27 Club Licensing requirements.

Saturday’s fixture also continues Bullets’ early-season travels to the capital following the opening-day clash against Civil Service United and the Blantyre derby against Mighty Wanderers earlier this month.

Maule have won twice and drawn twice in their opening four league matches, scoring five goals and conceding three while also keeping two clean sheets so far this season.

Blue Eagles have also enjoyed a disciplined defensive start to the campaign, conceding only twice in four outings.

The two sides have produced several competitive encounters in recent seasons.

Last season, the Lilongwe-based outfit stunned Bullets with an away victory in Blantyre before the return fixture ended goalless at Nankhaka Stadium.

With both sides positioned near the top of the table, Saturday’s meeting presents an important early opportunity for Maule to re-establish momentum in the title race.

Kick-off at Civo Stadium is scheduled for 14:30.
